Pretty Girl!! Shoes? Not so much.

This is Miah in the brace she will be wearing for the first three months we have her. After the three months, she will then wear her brace for 18 hours a day, and finally just at night for 2 to 3 more years. What an amazing transformation in Miah, since she went to TCH. With the love and care provided by True Children's Home Miah has blossomed.

She is a cutie! Her language, friends, caregivers and yes her LIFE is going to change dramatically in two weeks.

The director at TCH has told us however that they believe that Miah will do well, because she has a big sister to help her with the transition. She went on to tell us that Miah really enjoys being with other children. What a blessing that we were able to bring four year old Angelina with us.

My Brain Is Too Small

We are now a couple of weeks away from travelling. That's a "yay!" thought for sure, but at the same time as things become a whole lot more real we are delving through travel plans, packing, preparation, etc. As each thing gets done, we seem to think up another 5 that haven't been done.

"We can't forget that" we say... and usually that translates to "we'll forget this 5 minutes after we have this conversation."

We don't doubt we'll get it all done, but we're doing it all with a healthy sense of Him guiding us while we potter around with our little goldfish memories.

Party of Four and Growing

We have decided that our travelling party coming with us to China will be: me, my hubbie, my oldest daughter (now 21) and little Angelina (from China, now 4 years old).

With swine flu concerns abounding, many folks have stated a reluctance to take little ones with them to China.

BUT... we are strong... and we have our faith. This trip is not about us, its about little Miah. Folks who have had the opportunity to see Miah up close have told us that they think Miah will adjust quicker if she has another "little sister" to bond with. Angelina is still young but I know her heart. Like us, she would think nothing of putting her trust and her health in God's hands, to ensure her new sister has no fear when she meets us.

Miah's Finding Ad

An ad in the local newspaper is used in an attempt to find birthparents before a child is considered eligible for adoption. This is Miah's ad.

Measurements

Miah's latest measurements

Feet: 12cm
Weight: 9.76kg
Head: 47.5cm
Chest: 49cm
Height: 84cm
Teeth: 9/8

We will be looking at size 6 shoes. She's quite slender, but the size 2 dresses we have sent so far seem to fit her fine, so we will stick to that. It was also suggested we take some pins to hold up her pants. A few timbits (once we get home) will help also.
